Eumundi is just minutes from ikatan Spa
Eumundi is a pretty, historic, buzzing country town only ten minutes drive from ikatan Spa and an easy twenty five minutes from Noosa. Nestled in the most unlikely hinterland location, between a highway, a train track and circled by local roads, Eumundi has so much to be experienced. It’s a green oasis with history, arts, craft, music, yoga, brewery, distillery, stays, shops, cafes and restaurants and an iconic market.
Eumundi was a timber harvesting area.
A small European settlement which emerged in the 1880s. In 1891 with the construction of the railway line between Cooroy and Yandina and two sawmills that opened soon afterwards. With the clearing of the timber, dairying and banana growing filled the hillsides and two sawmills continued to operate in the town.
As you drive into the town of Eumundi you immediately feel as if you have left your world behind for a touch of yesteryear, enveloped in a canopy of trees along the wide main street where you will find shops, pubs, cafes, and restaurants.
The Imperial Hotel and Eumundi Brewery, Distillery is easy to find in the heart of town, has been operating since 1911 and a must visit. Tasting tours at the Brewery are popular, not just for what you enjoy tasting but to learn about the history of brewing the process and they also have a distillery for their own gin. The guided tour is free, however be sure to book early during busy periods and bring closed shoes. There’s also Music of an afternoon in the beer garden on the weekends.

Shopping in Eumundi is not something to be rushed as there’s a treasure trove of different shops to browse. There’s shops to buy clothes, jewellery, homewares and so much more in Eumundi and we recommend starting at one end of the street and making your way down one side and back up the other side so you don’t miss an opportunity to find something unique.
We like to start shopping at Villa Life & Co located in the historic Bakery building in Eumundi, where you will find vintage decorating items, antiques, fine art and speciality one off pieces for your home. If you are wanting to make Eumundi home, speak to the people at Villa Life & Co as they also own Villa Prestige Properties.
Berkelouw Books is also a favourite stop to shop, half way along the street, in the old Eumundi Trading Post building and it’s a place where you can easily lose track of time browsing old and new books as well as a great cup of coffee along with some delicious homemade food. Then continue down the street without missing a shop until you get to The Eumundi Post Office, the cutest post office you will ever see that still operates and also sells some lovely cards and stationery.
